Alexandria (Alex) Olguin has studied film since her sophomore year of high school. Her high school education lead her to continue pursuing this career throughout college where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film Production at Santa Fe University of Art and Design.
Before graduating she had the opportunity to gain experience on larger sets in New Mexico by being a background extra in various Films and TV shows. Closer to the end of her college career she was an intern for the New Mexico Film Project and Meow Wolf.
Her time at the New Mexico Film Office was spent helping an employee set up a podcast, helping with website design and editing videos later to be used for advertising.
At Meow Wolf she had the opportunity to lend a helping hand in production for their second unit department and later was hired as Assistant Director for their documentary titled “Meow Wolf: Origin Story”
After graduation she maintained a relationship with the New Mexico Film Office which helped her join the crew for the Coen Brothers Netflix Miniseries “The Ballad of Buster Scruggs” as a sound intern along with a few other Production Assistant jobs.
Unfortunately due to some family and financial struggles she has found herself back in Colorado with family where she has mostly worked on independent projects trying to continue to do what she’s most passionate about, being on set and seeing a project from start to finish.
