CREATIVE COLLABORATORS WANTED — THEATRE + PSYCHOLOGY
Safety Standards (required): Our company uses the Community Standards for Theatre for Colorado.
I’m a therapist with a theatre background. And I’m done keeping those two worlds separate.
I’m building something here in Denver— small, experimental projects that live at the intersection of theatre, storytelling, psychology, and human connection. I’m looking for a few creative people who want to help breathe some life into this.
This isn’t an acting class. It isn’t traditional theatre. And it isn’t a therapy group.
It’s an exploration of what happens when we use the tools of performance—storytelling, movement, role, improvisation, embodiment, and play—to explore how we understand ourselves, how we understand our world.
WHAT WE’RE CREATING
The first phase of the project will involve developing short-form video content that demonstrates some of this intersection of storytelling/theatre and psychology/human motivation.
The goal is to create something people can actually see—rather than simply trying to explain how the intersection exists. We’ll be creating content that is:
Raw. Human. Intimate. Experiential.
Content designed not just to entertain or inform, but to make people experience something.
From there, there is potential for continued collaboration as the project evolves into additional filmed content, workshops, performances, retreats, and other creative projects.
WHO I’M LOOKING FOR
You might be:
• An actor/ performer/ theatre student or theatre-maker
• A filmmaker/ editor
• An improviser/ storyteller
• A writer, designer, or simply someone who seeks creative expression
No formal theatre or film training is required.
What matters more is curiosity, creativity, emotional intelligence, reliability, and a genuine interest in making something meaningful.
WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO
Depending on your interests, you may have an opportunity to:
• Develop and experiment with theatrical exercises
• Perform in filmed demonstrations
• Help shape the visual/storytelling language of the project
• Participate in creative development and brainstorming
• Shoot, direct, edit, or produce content
• Build portfolio/reel material
• Become part of an ongoing interdisciplinary creative team
WHAT I’D LIKE TO KNOW
If this sounds interesting, send me a brief email and tell me:
→ What drew you to this opportunity?
→ What is your creative/expressive outlet?
→ What role(s) would you be most interested in exploring?
→ When might you have time for an initial conversation?
This is currently an unpaid, collaborative/portfolio-building opportunity. I’m happy to discuss accommodations, scheduling, and ways to make participation workable.
I’m interested in finding people who want to help create something that hasn’t quite existed before; this isn’t just a “project” to do.
If that sounds like you, I’d love to hear from you.
